Northern Essex Community College is an OER leader!

  • Since 2014, nearly 19,000 NECC students have realized over $2 million in textbook cost savings because of OER. Small investment – BIG results!

  • More than 60 NECC courses totaling more than 90 sections include OER materials.

  • Nearly 70 NECC faculty members have replaced commercial texts with open educational materials.

Across the Massachusetts public higher education system, hundreds of faculty members are utilizing OER in courses that enroll thousands of students, resulting in millions in savings.
