Keyword Search
A keyword search is a good way to begin to search for books or articles on your topic. Identify the most important concepts in your search, then type them into the search box.
For example, if you are researching a paper about whether or not the Vikings were the first to discover North America, the search Vikings America or Vikings America Discovery are both effective search strategies.
Typing your keywords into this box will return books, ebooks, DVDs, and online movies about Vikings and their relationship to America.
Subject Headings
Subject heading searches can compliment a keyword search.
Subject headings are located in the item record below the call number. Click on the heading that best describes your topic and you will get a result list full of items that all have the same tag. You may find things in the list that you did not see in your keyword search.
