According to the National Commission on Service-Learning, "Service-Learning is equally as valuable as community service (volunteering) but different in that service-learning is “a teaching and learning approach that integrates community service with academic study to enrich learning, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities.”
Service learning at NECC allows students to do service learning projects while earning college credit. Students will be able to apply skills in the classroom in order to make a difference in other people's lives.
