Search Strategies: Culinary Articles

Searching is most successful when a topic is broken down into keywords joined by 'and.'

If your topic is “the history of food in India” then the important keywords will be:

Keywords:                                          

history                                              

food                                                

India                                           

Combine keywords to search:  history and food and India

Add, subtract or substitute keywords to narrow or widen your search. Think of synonyms for your keywords.

history                                                   past, background  

food                                                      cuisine, cooking

India                                                     Indian, South East Asia

Add, subtract, or substitute keywords to search:

  • background and cuisine and India
  • history and cooking and Indian
