Selected Databases

There is no one perfect database to search for information related to your English Composition II papers. Below we have highlighted some of our most used databases.

Remember that when you are searching in databases you want to use keywords and not sentences. Keyword searches will result in a greater number of relevant hits. Think critically about your topic and what it is you are looking for. Are you writing about the works of Franz Kafka and the symbolism that is present in his writing? Try a keyword search of "Kafka AND Symbolism," this will return more hits than a search of "how does Kafka use symbolism in his novels."
